Giovanni, Design Intern


Giovanni, a third-year Motion Design student at Ringling College of Art and Design in Florida, chose PatientPoint for its uplifting creative environment, opportunities to explore different departments, and supportive employees. His main responsibilities during the internship include graphic design, animation, template creation/exporting, asset management, and team communication.


Through this role, Giovanni has gained invaluable knowledge about the dynamics of a creative work environment and how different teams collaborate and leverage their strengths. One of his current projects involves creating motion design waiting room videos, a task he finds exciting. He enjoys developing concepts, pitching them with supporting design styles, and receiving feedback from his team, which helps him enhance his work and acquire new skills.


The mentorship Giovanni has received from his manager, Danielle Boykins, has been instrumental in his development. Danielle has actively pushed him towards opportunities that align with his interests, setting up meetings with other teams and structuring his internship schedule to ensure he meets his goals. Giovanni is particularly proud of his work on templates for the Creative Marketing team, believing they will streamline many tasks and can be continuously improved by the team.

PatientPoint's culture is described by Giovanni as comfortable and uplifting, where no one feels out of place, yet everyone is motivated to grow and learn. One of the biggest challenges he faced was updating the IXR system screens. Initially, the project seemed daunting, but with guidance from Justin Mullins, he was able to break it down into manageable parts.


Giovanni advises future interns to pursue the many opportunities available at PatientPoint by talking to people and asking questions. This internship has given him a clear insight into working in a creative corporate job, and he now knows that he would love to work in an environment like PatientPoint.


 

Andrea, Client Sales Intern


Andrea, a senior at Elon University majoring in marketing and psychology, grew up in Westchester, NY, just north of Manhattan. She chose her internship at PatientPoint to deepen her understanding of sales and embark on her professional journey. This decision proved to be fruitful as she gained invaluable skills and insights throughout her experience.


During her internship, Andrea developed strong organizational and time management skills and mastered various software platforms like ZoomInfo, MediaRadar, and SalesForce. Her communication abilities also improved significantly, equipping her with a well-rounded skill set essential for her future career.




A particularly rewarding project for Andrea was the creation of a comprehensive 25-page report on major food and beverage companies such as PepsiCo, Coca-Cola, and General Mills. She dedicated substantial time and effort to this project, and its successful completion brought her immense satisfaction and a sense of achievement.


Andrea’s internship was marked by exceptional mentorship and support. Her colleagues were always available to answer questions and provide guidance, creating a nurturing environment that contributed to her positive experience. She describes the work culture at PatientPoint as supportive, caring, understanding, and encouraging.


To future interns, Andrea advises maintaining a well-organized agenda for projects, assignments, and emails. She emphasizes the importance of using available resources and continuously asking questions to enhance understanding and efficiency in daily tasks. Ali, Client Sales Intern


Ali, a sophomore at the University of Michigan studying business and sustainability with a minor in entrepreneurship, sought to immerse herself in a corporate environment during her summer break. When she came across a job posting for a Client Sales intern at PatientPoint on LinkedIn, she knew it was the perfect opportunity. The seamless and informative interview process confirmed her decision, and she felt grateful for the chance to join the team.


In her role, Ali was responsible for prospecting potential clients through cold-call emailing and utilizing various AI platforms. This experience taught her the importance of consistency and determination in the prospecting process. She also honed her networking skills, regularly engaging with senior professionals both inside and outside the office.


A key highlight of Ali’s internship was the exceptional mentorship and support she received. Her mentor, Meghan, provided invaluable guidance and assistance throughout the summer. Additionally, Morgan, who oversaw the internship program, offered continuous support and encouragement. This nurturing environment played a significant role in Ali's positive experience at PatientPoint.


One of Ali's proudest accomplishments during her internship was securing two new initial client meetings. However, this achievement didn't come easily. She faced the challenge of going five weeks without any responses while prospecting. Staying consistent and not feeling discouraged was crucial, and her perseverance ultimately paid off.



Ali describes the work culture at PatientPoint as inclusive and supportive, with passionate individuals who are always willing to help. This positive atmosphere contributed to her growth and success throughout the internship.


To future interns, Ali advises maintaining an open mind and being ready to immerse themselves in new experiences. Her internship at PatientPoint not only equipped her with valuable skills and knowledge but also reinforced her career goals, solidifying her desire to pursue a path in business and sustainability.


 

Ryan, Account Manager Intern


Ryan Harris, a senior at Warner University, sought to gain valuable office experience and work with like-minded professionals before his graduation in Spring 2025. This ambition led him to choose an internship at PatientPoint, where he hoped to immerse himself in a corporate environment and prepare for his future career.


During his internship, Ryan's primary responsibilities included reaching out to offices that use PatientPoint products to verify and update critical information such as healthcare providers, office hours, and business addresses. This task allowed him to develop proficiency in using Salesforce and a CRM system. Additionally, he learned essential skills such as effective networking, coworker interaction, and professional phone communication.


One particularly rewarding project for Ryan was his Showcase project, which he presented to leaders and other members of the PatientPoint organization. This project gave him the opportunity to share his experiences and insights gained throughout the internship, which he found highly fulfilling.



Ryan's internship experience was greatly enriched by the mentorship and support he received. Having never had a true mentor before, he was excited to learn from his mentor, who provided invaluable advice and served as a sounding board for his ideas. This guidance was instrumental in his growth and development over the summer.


A significant accomplishment for Ryan was completing the internship itself, which was one of his main goals before graduating college. He is proud of having achieved this milestone and feels it has prepared him for his future career endeavors.

One challenge Ryan faced was adjusting to making frequent phone calls, as he had always preferred texting. However, this experience helped him step out of his comfort zone, and by the end of the summer, he had become comfortable with phone communication.


Ryan advises future interns to seize every opportunity and network as much as possible, emphasizing the importance of having a supportive network. This approach, he believes, can significantly impact one's life and career.


Reflecting on his internship, Ryan feels more prepared and excited for his career post-college. The experience provided him with a realistic glimpse of the professional world, alleviating his initial nervousness and replacing it with eagerness to start his career.


 

Davis, Inside Sales Intern


Davis Whiting, a senior at High Point University, has always been fascinated by healthcare, particularly the cutting-edge aspects of the field. This interest drew him to PatientPoint, a company offering innovative solutions to help providers engage with their patients. Eager to gain experience in a professional setting before graduating in Spring 2025, Davis chose this internship to immerse himself in a corporate environment and learn from industry professionals.


During his internship, Davis worked on the inside sales team. His responsibilities included qualifying primary care offices, ensuring they had enough providers for PatientPoint products, and pitching to decision-makers using a script he developed from shadowing experienced salespeople. Davis's role required him to navigate the sales process, which involved participating in a Sales Funnel event in Chicago, where he learned about consultative selling—a technique focused on understanding customers' challenges and objectives rather than merely promoting product features. Eventually, he transitioned to the Rendia team, applying the same sales techniques to this new division.



This internship provided Davis with a wealth of new skills and knowledge. He learned the intricacies of consultative selling, enabling him to tailor his approach to each prospect's unique preferences and issues. Additionally, he strengthened his resilience, as he faced more rejection than success—a common reality in sales. This experience added a new layer to his ability to persist through challenges.


One of the most rewarding aspects of Davis's internship was scheduling demos for primary care and Rendia. Although he didn't undertake specific projects, the satisfaction of breaking through with a demo was a significant achievement. Davis also highlighted the incredible mentorship he received from his boss, Frank Peters, and two other mentors, Ben Curtis and Holly Emerson. Each mentor provided valuable advice on various aspects of his role and career development, offering insights on everything from sales techniques to setting career goals.


Davis is particularly proud of his networking accomplishments during his internship. With Holly's encouragement, he scheduled meetings with various people throughout the company, gaining perspectives on his career path and the importance of initiating connections. This experience underscored the value of networking and helped him understand that while people are willing to help, he must take the initiative.


The work culture at PatientPoint left a lasting impression on Davis. He was pleasantly surprised by the number of long-tenured employees, which he attributed to the company's attentive leadership and supportive team environment. This positive culture made a significant impact on his overall experience, reinforcing the importance of a collaborative and caring workplace.


Facing challenges, particularly the frequent rejection in sales, was an integral part of Davis's growth. He learned to analyze what went well and what didn't, applying these lessons to future interactions. His advice to future interns is to take advantage of networking opportunities within the business, as talking to people can reveal insights and inspire new ideas. He emphasizes that gaining firsthand access to different experiences and positions is crucial for young professionals.

While he may not see himself working in sales long-term, he recognizes the importance of selling in various professional scenarios.
