Steven's professional career officially started in January 2014 when he became a Marketing Communications Intern at Old Town Cape, Inc. This role gave him invaluable experience in marketing and communications, setting the stage for his next position as an Entertainment Specialist at Sam’s Town Gambling Hall & Casino. After graduation, Steven relocated to Las Vegas, where he entered the vibrant event industry. His time in Las Vegas was an exhilarating experience, honing his organizational and marketing skills while managing large-scale projects. Over the next year, Steven refined his expertise in event booking, marketing entertainment, and overseeing the box office, showcasing his creativity and adaptability.
Upon returning to Missouri, Steven transitioned into the advertising world, joining an agency supporting McDonald’s, one of the most recognizable brands globally. In this role, he contributed to the launch of the All Day Breakfast campaign and built strong client relationships, further sharpening his strategic marketing abilities.
While his career in advertising was rewarding, Steven discovered a newfound passion for employer branding when he joined a nonprofit organization in St. Louis. There, he jumped into the world of employer branding, focusing on creating a compelling narrative that attracted top talent and enhanced the organization's reputation as an employer of choice. He immersed myself in learning everything about employer branding, from developing an authentic employer value proposition to leveraging digital channels for effective talent acquisition.
His dedication and innovative approach at Emmaus Homes led to his promotion to Brand Manager in January 2018. Over the next three years, Steven spearheaded communication campaigns, content creation, and strategic use of social media, significantly increasing Emmaus' visibility among targeted audiences. He ensured brand consistency across all platforms and oversaw the marketing team, setting high standards for brand management and communication.
In April 2021, Steven joined Panorama Education as a Talent Acquisition Branding Specialist, where he focused on digital storytelling and building partnerships to promote the company's brand. His work led to a 173% increase in careers page traffic and a 213% increase in employee referrals, showcasing his ability to drive growth through recruitment marketing initiatives.
Steven’s expertise in employer branding and recruitment marketing continued to evolve when he joined PatientPoint in July 2022 as an Employment Brand & Recruitment Marketing Specialist. During his tenure, he implemented a comprehensive reputation management strategy, improved the company’s Glassdoor rating, and launched a new external career site. Most recently, Steven was promoted to Manager of Employer Brand & University Relations at PatientPoint.
