Day in the Life of Maddie Thompson, MAD Social Agency

Meet Maddie Thompson, the dynamic and driven Founder of MAD Social Agency, a fast-growing creative firm known for its bold ideas, rapid pace, and real-deal collaboration. Maddie is building a movement rooted in energy, vision, and an unapologetically human culture.

Building MAD, One Bold Move at a Time

When you ask Maddie what her day looks like, there’s no cookie-cutter answer.

“I wear a lot of hats,” she admits with a laugh. “My main focus is vision, growth, and making sure our team feels energized and supported while doing exceptional work.”

Her mornings kick off with a quick scan of Slack to check in on the team, followed by back-to-back strategy calls and creative reviews. You might find her reviewing a campaign pitch in one hour, jumping into a content brainstorm the next, then pausing midday to tweak internal systems that keep the agency’s engine humming.

And while every day brings something new, one thing remains constant: Maddie’s relentless

drive to push MAD Social forward without compromising on culture or creativity.

“There’s usually at least one ‘wait, let’s rethink this’ moment in the day,” she says. “That’s when we end up with something way better than what we originally planned.”

Where Collaboration Isn’t a Buzzword

At MAD, no one flies solo. Maddie describes the culture as fast-paced, supportive, and very real. MAD is a place where team members can be themselves and pitch bold ideas without fear of being sidelined.

“Collaboration is literally the core of everything we do,” Maddie explains. “Nothing gets done in a vacuum. We rely on each other’s strengths and perspectives to make the work stronger and honestly, that’s where the magic happens.”

Her leadership style reflects this belief. She checks in with team leads throughout the day, helps troubleshoot stuck projects, and champions the idea that communication should always stay open and honest. And even with the high-speed tempo, the team still makes time to laugh, celebrate wins, and lift each other up.

Recognition, Growth, and Keeping It Real

A recent highlight for Maddie was being featured in Campaign’s 30 Under 30 list, an achievement she sees as a reflection of her team’s shared success.

“It felt like a moment that really validated everything we’ve been building,” she says. “We’ve grown fast, but we’ve done it without losing the creativity and scrappiness that got us here.”

Still, growth doesn’t come without challenges. Maddie is the first to admit that balancing creativity with operations, and knowing when to delegate, has been a personal evolution.

“I’ve had to learn how to let go and focus on where I bring the most value,” she reflects. “It’s a good kind of challenge though. The kind that comes with building something that actually matters.”

Freedom, Flexibility, and Fulfillment

MAD Social talks about work-life balance by living it. Maddie has built a company that prioritizes outcomes over hours and encourages team members to work from wherever they feel most productive.

“There’s no micromanaging or old-school 9-to-5 mindset here,” she says. “We want people to enjoy their life, their work, and actually feel good doing both.”

For Maddie, the impact of MAD goes far beyond business. It has shaped her as a leader, taught her how to hold space for creativity and pressure simultaneously, and given her a life filled with purpose, connection, and flexibility.

“It’s helped me become more confident, grounded, and fulfilled,” she shares. “Personally and professionally, it’s been everything.”

Maddie Thompson's Advice to Others

Maddie’s advice for anyone considering a role at MAD Social? Come ready to bring the heat.

“Be ready to move fast, speak up, and take ownership,” she says. “This isn’t the kind of place where you wait to be told what to do. We value initiative, creativity, and people who are excited to grow and figure things out along the way.”

In a world of buzzwords and burnout, Maddie Thompson is building something refreshingly real. And if her day is any indication, the future of MAD Social Agency is as bold and vibrant as the founder behind it.
