Nonprofits Making Men’s Health a Priority for #WearBlueDay

Each year on the Friday before Father’s Day, we celebrate #WearBlueDay - a call to action to raise awareness about the health risks men face and encourage preventive care, wellness, and early detection.

Did you know men are less likely to visit the doctor, more likely to take health risks, and face higher rates of cancer, heart disease, and accidental injury? Wear BLUE Day, part of Men’s Health Month, is about changing that—starting with awareness.

Here are mission-driven organizations working to help men lead longer, healthier lives through education, screenings, mental health support, and community outreach.

Men’s Health Network

Men’s Health Network is one of the leading voices for male wellness in the U.S. They run health fairs, provide screening services, and lead education campaigns during Men’s Health Month, including Wear BLUE Day itself.

Roles they hire for: Health Educators, Public Policy Advocates, Community Program Coordinators.

Movember Foundation

Best known for those famous mustaches, Movember is laser-focused on tackling prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health, and suicide prevention. Through global fundraising and local programs, they’re changing the face of men’s health.

Roles they hire for: Program Officers, Fundraising Managers, Digital Campaign Specialists.

ZERO Prostate Cancer

ZERO provides free screenings, education, patient support, and financial aid for men battling prostate cancer. Their community-based approach helps break down stigma and improve outcomes—especially in underserved communities.

Roles they hire for: Community Engagement Managers, Health Program Leads, Development Officers.

The Jed Foundation

While not exclusively male-focused, JED plays a critical role in supporting young men’s mental health, especially in schools and colleges, where men are often less likely to seek help for anxiety, depression, and suicidal thoughts.

Roles they hire for: Mental Health Advisors, Campus Partners, Program Managers.

Headstrong

Headstrong provides confidential, cost-free mental health care for veterans, many of whom are men struggling with PTSD, depression, or trauma. Their tailored approach is removing barriers to healing.

Roles they hire for: Clinical Case Managers, Veteran Outreach Coordinators, Therapists.

American Heart Association

The American Heart Association offers several initiatives targeting men’s cardiovascular health, including blood pressure screenings, nutrition guidance, and workplace wellness programs.

Roles they hire for: Health Coaches, Program Directors, Advocacy Coordinators.

Man Therapy

Blending humor with serious help, Man Therapy is a unique campaign that offers mental health resources and screenings for working-age men, tackling tough topics like depression and suicide with candor and connection.

This Wear BLUE Day, support the men in your life by encouraging checkups, sharing resources, and talking about health, physical and mental. These nonprofits are leading the way to better, longer, and healthier lives for men everywhere.

💙 Because caring is manly. Prevention is powerful. And every day is the right day to take your health seriously.
